Why Shadow as a Red Lantern?:
This should be fairly easy to understand. Although in recent games he is always portrayed as calm and such I think that deep down Shadow is just as angry and vengeful as ever. Most, if not all, Red Lanterns become such from a tragic past. Atrositus’ rage toward the Guardians for unleashing the faulty machines, the Manhunters, who wiped out nearly all life in what is now know as the Forgotten Zone. Bleez, who was stripped of her status and freedom by a Yellow Lantern, and Dex-Starr, an earth cat who was powerless the stop the murder of his beloved owner and was cast aside as a stray. Need I say Maria?

Advantages over natural abilities?:
ULTIMATE RAGING LIFE FORM!!! Yeah basically...it would be badass. Red Lanterns don’t often make constructs, but they can if one has the willpower (go figure) and focus to do so, more often than not they don’t. They mostly spew “napalm blood puke” from their mouths by the gallon. It’s often leaking from their mouths (as seen in the picture). Aside from harnessing his own rage, Shadow can also be fueled by the rage of others, so it’s best to keep your cool around him.

Disadvantages?:
First off, let me explain what happens when one becomes a Red Lantern. IN THE COMICS, when the red ring chooses you it stops your heart, it becomes your heart. Your blood is replaced by corrosive, rage-energized blood that can burn and destroy almost anything. To give up the ring is to die. IN THE CARTOON it’s basically the same except one does not die from the removal of the ring, and they spit rage fire instead of blood. Also, because Rage is on the farthest end of the emotional spectrum, the red ring greatly influences ones state of being. Because of this Red Lanterns don’t often speak, they just act (this is not entirely so in the cartoons).

That being said, my Red Lantern Shadow is a combination of both, being as fierce as the ‘Lanterns in the comics, but like the cartoon ‘Lanterns he won’t die if his ring is removed. But, if it is removed, it can damage his heart to the point of cardiac arrest, so the risk is still high.

Typically Shadow can speak and think coherently (though there would be a harder edge to his personality). Though when Shadow’s anger rises his ability to think clearly starts going out the window and he becomes an animalistic and relentless as the emotion he wields.

If a Red Lantern feels Love (the opposite of rage) then the rage gets compromised and the wearer, Shadow,may lose his ring and, as stated before, he could risk dyeing. Depending on how strong the Love is, or how much he accepts or denies it, it can really screw with him. His powers could fail at any given moment or he can have great difficult breathing as the red ring is still connected to his heart.

Clothes?:
I have do clue really...gave him claws, kept his wrist rings (since from what we’ve seen they help him control the chaos energy inside him), and I just couldn’t get rid of the chest fur, you can’t cover that up yo. Red Lanterns also have some consistency in their uniform so his design is based off of that.


It appears that, much to his dismay as a Red Lantern, Shadow is feeling love. However, the one he yearns for has love for another. On top of his love going unnoticed, that person’s love is unrequited and being taken advantage of by a certain blue hedgehog and that pisses Shadow off even more!
