Why Sonic as a Green Lantern?:
Because he’s Sonic...duh.
No but seriously, to be deemed worthy of being a Green Lantern you must posses great willpower, the ability to overcome fear, creativity and a strong since of duty. Based off of what we’ve seen from games and other media Sonic exudes all these things, so I thought being a Green Lantern, one who’s power comes from will, suited him.

Advantages over natural abilities?:
We all know what Sonic is capable of, so what would Sonic do with a green power ring? Well, I believe he would use constructs as an extension of those abilities, like a Spin Dash with extra spike armor! While on Earth/Mobius, I couldn’t see Sonic abandoning his speed for the power of flight. So the way I see it he would still be running around at the speed of sound whenever he is on solid ground, only using flight as a form of dodging. While in the depths of space (as any ‘Lantern is bound to end up there) I figured he still wouldn’t abandon his speed (who would want to miss a chance to run among the stars?) and would instead be constantly forming a solid, flat construct under his feet on which he would run along (serious brain work out).
Also, the Emotional Spectrum (color spectrum) can greatly effect an individuals state of mind based on were their power ring’s energy/representative base emotion falls in the spectrum. Green/Willpower is smack-dab in the middle, meaning that Sonic has great clarity while wearing the ring as it does not alter his mind much.

Disadvantages?:
Willpowers natural weakness is Fear. So subsequently anyone who wields the yellow light of Fear holds some power against a Green Lantern. Sonic’s abilities as a Green Lantern would not be lost, but certainly weakened. Doubting oneself is the last thing a Green Lantern wants to do. After all what good is having the will to do something when you’re too afraid to act.

Clothes?:
There are standard edition uniforms in the Green Lantern Corps (the one we see Hal Jordan wearing), but most ‘Lanterns, after their training is complete opt to add their own flair to their uniform. Plus, could you honestly see Sonic parading around in some skin tights?


Sonic’s natural weakness is Compassion...what could that possibly mean?
